IMPORTANCE OF COACHING

Why work with a Coach?

At FS Concepts we pride ourselves in the coach-athlete relationship; first working to establish trust while getting to know the athlete on a personal level, then as a partner as the athlete embarks upon their training journey.  We work to provide you the tools needed to acheive your goals while establishing a holistic training focus and agenda.

Most people do not hesitate to seek expert advice from a car mechanic, accountant, attorney or doctor, but when it comes to training, people often choose to do it on their own.

Working with a coach helps you to:

  • Achieve a greater level of fitness than you would on your own.

  • Reduce your risk of overtraining injuries.

  • Become a more knowledgeable and insightful individual.

  • Remain accountable to achieving your fitness goals by working with someone who is monitoring your performance.

  • Obtain better results and in turn have more fun

  • Learn more about the sport
  • Coaching goes beyond that required in most personal training relationships.

Coaching focuses on the individual’s life and goals as a whole.

While coaches plan single workout sessions, these sessions are created within the broader context of the individual’s goals, resources, and event requirements.  Coaches take into account the broader sense of time and mental constraints people have--be it an elite athlete whose job is to train, or a tax attorney who works 50 hours a week.

Coaching takes into consideration the multiple aspects of overall health, flexibility, nutrition, strength, and endurance, as well as the technical and tactical aspects of your chosen sport.

The FS Concepts coaching relationship takes place in person (if able), over the phone, or utilizing internet. While the logistics of the relationship are such that the coach is not present during the actual implementation of the workouts, the FS Concepts coach still plays an important role in

1.       monitoring workouts.

2.       providing feedback.

3.       helping individuals enhance and maintain their training motivation.

      4.       understanding the training goals for that day

At FS Concepts, we have found that individuals who hire a coach are looking for someone to help them

  • Train with a purpose.

  • Create and maintain a healthy balance in their life.

  • Provide an outside objective opinion
